How the Coronavirus pandemic became Florida's perfect storm: Florida’s mishandling of the Coronavirus might mean Minnesota snowbirds choose to winter in...Minnesota. Contributor: Wy Spano Florida has become the new epicenter of the Coronavirus in the U.S. and, apparently, in the world. Many senior Minnesotans split their years: Florida in the winter, home in the summer. Except Minnesota is often no longer home. Florida is one of only nine states without an income tax, so many snow birds stay there longer than six months to become, officially, Floridians.
