It will take more than a majority

Turning out a large vote, and particularly a senior vote, is the aim of this blog. Given the disturbing discombobulation of our president, his disdain for scientifically sound measures to slow the spread of the Coronavirus and his disgusting exacerbation of our nation’s racial divisions, you might think a solid majority of Americans who’ve had enough will vote him out of office in November.

“Not so fast,” warns Guardian columnist Jonathan Freedland. A solid majority will not be enough. Unless Trump loses by a landslide, there is a real danger that he’ll lose, but refuse to leave office. “There’s only one guaranteed defence against such a possibility, concludes Freedland, “and that is for Biden to win a blowout victory.” Older and Bolder friends, we’ve got work to do.
